The NFL's New England Patriots released star wide receiver Antonio Brown Friday after playing only one game, according to a statement from the team.

Brown's release from his second team this month comes in the midst of sexual assault allegations from two separate women, according to a report from Yahoo Sports.

The allegations, however, are just the latest in what has become an epic string of bizarre incidents surrounding Brown, one of football's most talented players.

Brown was released from the Oakland Raiders earlier this month before even playing a game for the team after failing to show up for training camp and several team meetings, refusing to practice over a dispute with the league over the legality of his helmet, and getting into a public social media spat with team officials, among other things.

The Raiders had acquired Brown after the then Pittsburgh Steelers star failed to show up to the teams final game of the season, in which they had a chance to clinch a playoff berth, following an argument with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers lost.

Brown's $30 million guaranteed that he had been owed by the Raiders was voided when he was released prior to their first game, and his $10 million guaranteed from the Patriots is also likely to not be fulfilled, according to CBS Sports.
