President Donald Trump has drawn no shortage of ire after mocking climate change activist Greta Thurnburg following the 16-year old's speech at the United Nations summit Tuesday in New York.

Trump linked a video of Thurnburg's moving address to world leaders, in which she talked of collapsing ecosystems and people suffering at the hands of climate change, sarcastically commenting that "She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future," according to CNN.

The tweet has since been deleted.

The Trump administration has had a history of undoing measures designed to protect the environment, including rolling back pollution regulations, allowing chemicals known to cause terminal illnesses and other diseases to be used on crops and infiltrate water sources. Trump has also called climate change a hoax, according to Medium.

Following Trump's remarks, Thurnburg edited her twitter bio to describe herself as a "a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future."
