Joe Biden's son Hunter announced in a statement that he will step down from the board of a Chinese backed investment company following accusations of corruption from president Trump.

Trump and his lawyer Rudy Giuliani have made claims, without providing evidence, that the younger Biden made millions while working for a Ukraine based gas company while his father was overseeing policy in the region as vice president, according to Bloomberg.

Biden also said that he would cease all foreign business activity in the case of his father winning the 2020 election.

House Democrats opened an impeachment inquiry against Trump following a phone call with the president of Ukraine in which Democrats allege Trump demanded his counterpart open an investigation into the Bidens in exchange for a large security aid payment. Trump has also publicly called on China to investigate the Bidens, according to the Washington Post.
