Vikings safety Jayron Kearse was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicions of drunk driving and unlawful possession of a firearm.

A state trooper pulled Kearse over after observing him drive his vehicle past a barricade onto a closed section of highway. Kearse's BAC was recorded at .10, well above the legal limit, according to WCCO.

Kearse has since been released from custody.

The safety is primarily a backup and special teams contributor, but has started two games this season, according to CBS.

The Vikings released a statement in which the organization said it would look to gather more information relating to the charges.
